Following the recent unveiling and completion of its aerospace Maintenace, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Loves Park, Illinois, the 1,100 members on site have turned their attention to how best to utilize the new capabilities on site.
“The changes we’ve made architecturally to the building, they themselves are all about enabling future success,” said David Forward, VP of Operations at Woodward’s Loves Park Campus in Rockford, IL. “So now that we’ve got the equipment in place and the funding approved for the future test stand capacity build outs, there’s a significant focus on how we drive that seven-day turnaround time (TAT) architecture.”
Thanks to work on the upfront process, Woodward has been able to demonstrate a sub-12-day turnaround time in producing a Gear Turbo Fan for Collins Aerospace. Woodward’s Loves Park team has set a goal of seven-day turnaround times to meet the growing demands of its customers.
