Last week, more than 20 Woodward members from the U.S. and Poland attended the Women in Manufacturing Summit 2024 in Boston. This year’s summit focused on the theme “Be a Champion for Success.”
“Women continue to play bigger roles with increasing influence in manufacturing,” said Alison Seward, Vice President for Industrial Quality. “It’s empowering to see so many professionals across industries gather in one place to discuss important trends and developments in our industries and support one another in our careers and personal lives.”
Over 2,000 people attended this year’s WiM summit. Dozens of major manufacturers took part in exhibitions and seminars. The event featured panels and workshops on topics ranging from advancements in supply chain technologies to workforce development, diversity and inclusion, career development, and more. Participants also had the opportunity to tour local plants.
Women represent half of the world’s population, yet only about one in three manufacturing professionals are women.
“WiM is a force for education and for advocating for each other’s success. The goal is not only to help women in manufacturing succeed, but to help build the future for the sector as a whole,” said Niki Lohmeier, Continuous Improvement Manager, and an active board member of the WiM Illinois chapter.
We’re proud to be part of WIM and to celebrate women in the manufacturing industry.
