Woodward works with engine OEMs to understand and resolve their complex engine control system challenges. Design inputs include fuel pressure and temperature, fuel flow rate, overall system weight, engine actuation requirements and air and oil management requirements. Woodward applies its platform component designs to the design requirements and then models the combined system, reflecting the most challenging environmental conditions and engine performance outputs. Components include main fuel pumps, fuel metering units, fuel driven actuators, air valves, heat exchangers, and filter modules.
