To allow for a focus on airframe applications, the acquisitions of MPC Products and HR Textron form the basis of the fourth Woodward business segment, Airframe Systems.
Woodward HRT provides solutions for the critical motion control systems and is an industry leader in the advanced technology, engineering development, and manufacturing of mission-critical actuation systems and controls
for weapons, aircraft, turbine engines, and combat vehicles. It is recognized for hydraulic and electric primary flight control actuation products including
electromechanical actuation systems for unmanned combat air vehicles and weapons, such as the Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) and the AIM 9X Sidewinder;
hydraulic and electric flight controls for fixed and rotor wing aircraft; servovalves for global aerospace; turret controls and stabilization systems for the
U.S. M1 Abrams Main Battle Tank and other armored vehicles worldwide; and fuel and pneumatics valves for aircraft and helicopters.
Woodward MPC provides industry leading solutions for electromechanical flight control and utility actuation systems, fly by wire cockpit control systems,
high performance sensors, electric motors and electromechanical components. Cockpit control system applications include auto throttles, rudder pedals and
other cockpit fly-by-wire systems, actuation systems include horizontal stabilizer, high lift, and utility actuation. Component applications include
brushless DC power drive units, airframe mounted sensors, and sensing systems with data concentration. Woodward MPC’s customers include both airframe
manufacturers and tier 1 system integrators, and the products are used on commercial platforms such as the Airbus A380, Boeing 737, Bombardier RJ700,
and Gulfstream G550, and military platforms such as the Bell Boeing V22, Lockheed JSF, and Boeing C-17.
